I bought this antenna to mount it in my attic and split it to the cable jacks throughout my home. I decided on it because it was very inexpensive, received VHF in addition to UHF, and came with an amplifier. This antenna will require some positioning magic, but when you find the sweet spot it's great. I had to reposition the mount once in my attic, then I ran 10ft of cable to the amplifier (which is necessarily that far away to reach the only outlet i have up there), then 50ft of cable back out to an outdoor box the splits to the individual outlets in the home. Signal strength on our lower VHF frequencies is moderate, and the transmitters are 28 miles away. UHF reception is excellent, and it receives every station in my area. The mount on more recent models has a flexible arm instead of an articulated arm. It's a decent mounting system, especially for attic installs. This certainly beats buying a more expensive, bulkier antenna sans mount and then dishing out more money for an amplifier. It is just shy of the 5 star for me simply because its VHF reception was a little picky.GE 24769 Outdoor Antenna for Digital HDTV Futura
